Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault

'A Nation is not defeated until the hearts of its women are on the ground.  Then is done, no matter how brave its warriors or how strong its weapons'      -- Cheyenne Proverb

The mission of the Maliseet Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Program is to effect change within our Tribal community where equality, respect and nonviolence become cornerstones of all relationships.  The Maliseet Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Program is dedicated to ending violence against Native women by assisting victims in regaining personal safety and control of their life, ensuing accountability of  perpetrators of violence within the Tribal and non-tribal Law enforcements and judicial systems, and promoting peaceful relations in our Tribal families and Community.
