Tribal Public Health Liaison
Tribal Public Health Liaison
Full Time - 40 hrs per week
Role: The Tribal Public Health Program Liaison will be a direct link for the tribal public health district in order to represent the Maine Tribes and CDC and provide leadership for all tribal communities in Maine.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Formal education with a current registered professional license or degree in a health related field, i.e., Nursing (RN) or Dietician or Master’s in Public Health.
- Six years professional experience in medical and/or health care administration to include three (3) years at the program management level.
- Professional knowledge of Public Health Promotion and Health Education to apply promotional techniques.
- Working knowledge of Indian Health Service Promotion and Education Standards.
- Knowledge of educational systems, Federal, State and local resources and coordination techniques to improve health promotion service.
- Ability to work a normal forty hour work week although some night and weekend work may be required for special events.
- Willingness to travel both in-State and out of State frequently and as necessary to fulfill job responsibilities.
- Demonstrate adult and youth education and training skills.
- Ability to maintain effective work relationships with the Tribal community, staff, outside agencies and the general public.
- Sensitivity and knowledge of Native American culture.
- Have good oral and written communication skills.
- Location negotiable within Aroostook, Penobscot, or Washington County
